Luke May Success!!
Luke May was recently awarded the Spirit Fighting Gloves after continued outstanding success at recent tournaments (see tournament round up on page 3). The picture above shows Alex Taylor who continues to improve his winning ways on the National competitive scene and Josh Wood who is new to the tournaments and has already won some trophies. Luke May is a fine example of where everyone can reach, with dedication, hard work and patience. A number of years ago when Luke first started out at tournaments he didn't just step onto the matt and start winning everything. For the first year his goal was to get through the first round, then he was getting some 3rd places, 2nd places, then finally a win and now winning most events he enters. This has been a gradual, slow (and sometimes painful!) process, but this is what makes a champion. Luke isn't finished yet, getting to the top is one thing, staying there is a whole new ball game!. |
